Dan
Drechsler - Didgeridoo-Art.cz
Because a coming weekend-visit to Prag
I searched in the web for Didge-Sites in the Czech-Republic. I found
some, and didgeridoo-art.cz was attracting me. The there shown didgeridoos
seeming made with a lot of love and compassion. Also the design of the
site is eye-appealing to me.
I contacted one of the both owners, Dan
Drechsler. Although he lives far away from Prag in Teplice (60 km in
the south of Dresden) he was for ome purpose at one of my visiting-days
until noon in Prag. We had only two hours together, but it has been
two exiting hours.
Dan is a Tea-Fan, so he lead me in the
oldest Tea-House of Prag. After a very good tea we entered the open
area and had time for testing and playing.
We had a nice time together.
Dan makes his didgeridoos very accurat
in the french-bread methode. Mostly he uses already died but good conditioned
timber. That is e.g. Oak, Ash, Linden, Alder, yew and more. What he
can get in the local forest. The bended didge, wich he plays on the
photo is from Weide. I was realy suprised, how rich in overtones weide
sounds, although it is a quite soft wood. I personaly like also the
tastefull drawings and painting of his didges, wich are mainly made
by Dans wife (1. photo in the middle).
In Czech Republic it is even more difficould
than in Germany to find good Original-Yirdakis. And they are in comparision
to the earned money a lot more expensive. This is a reason for a marked
for good didgeridoos from domestic timber.
The pictures are just copied from didgeridoo-art.cz,
I dont know, wich didges are made by Dan, and wich are from his companion.
They both are well known as didgemakers in Czech-Republic. |
